LEAR Update on GivingTuesday!

30 Nov

Happy GivingTuesday – “a global movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Black Friday. The ‘Opening day of the giving season’, it’s a time when charities, companies and individuals join together and rally for favourite causes. In the same way that retailers take part in Black Friday, the giving community comes together for GivingTuesday.”

We recently received our grant results for LEAR, but sadly we did not receive any grant funding. Between our Fund-What-You-Can campaign that ran in the spring and summer, and a few donations we have received, we have raised just over $4,400 for this production. In the spirit of GivingTuesday, we’re still accepting donations to help us bring this show to life. If you weren’t able to donate to our FWYC before it closed, we accept donations 24/7 through our website, so you still have a chance to help us out! Please donate today – no amount is too small and every little bit helps!

To re-familiarize yourself with our amazing team and plans for this production, check out our FWYC Promo Video and Artist Interview Series, all shot by LD Photo & Video. Thank you for your continued support!

It’s not enough to get the show on its feet, but it’s a great start, and thank you all for helping us get to this great starting point. Our next step will be to write grant applications and hopefully get the rest of the funding we need that way. For any donors who are to receive production-related prizes, those will be honoured once we have enough funding to put the show on its feet, and we will be in touch as things develop.

Stay tuned to our website, FacebookTwitter Instagram, and sign up for our e-newsletter for further LEAR developments and details on our other projects. We also accept donations 24/7 through our website in case you know anyone who wanted to donate to the FWYC but didn’t get to before the deadline.

Thank you all so much again for your support! Making theatre happen is such a community effort, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without you – our wonderful community.
